Custom Textured Green tri-color Faux Stainless Steel Pickguard IBANEZ JEM or RG550 Japan - Plastic (Copy)

For the Ibanez faithful who refuse to blend in. This acrylic plastic pickguard is laser-engraved tri-layer acrylic — industrial-grade, USA-sourced, and built for the stage. The spiral is engraved through a stainless-steel-look top layer that reveals a vibrant Green acrylic background underneath, and the color has been lightly distressed to give it a worn-in, vintage feel — not relic'd, just softened enough to look like it's been on a touring guitar since 1989. The finish is matte with a subtle brushed-metal texture that feels premium under your fingers. When stage lights hit it, the spiral flashes and shifts like brushed chrome; when you step back, it becomes a ghost pattern. Your audience won't know what they're looking at, but they'll know it's not stock.

This pickguard fits most Ibanez RG550 models (Genesis, original, or reissue) as well as most Ibanez JEM models, using the standard Ibanez HSH pickup routing for a true drop-in replacement. In the late 80s and early 90s, you couldn't walk into a guitar shop without seeing a neon, crackle-finish, or mirror-guard Ibanez. This pickguard is that energy — but elevated. Steve Vai had floral patterns and mirror guards. Joe Satriani had chrome and custom finishes. Alex Skolnick of Testament had hot-rodded RGs that screamed metal. This pickguard belongs on that same stage. It is for the player who wants a JEM that doesn't look like everyone else's, or an RG550 that gets a second glance at a show.

Ibanez pickguards for these models are notoriously hard to align and there is no universal fit. You may have to drill an extra hole, or make some small adjustments, filing and positioning to get the best fit on your guitar.

The material is 3 ply acrylic plastic with 10 screw hole mounting pattern and HSH Pickup configuration. Acrylic plastic is lighter and a little more flexible than the PVC that come standard on most Ibanez guitars. The thickness is 2.4mm (about the same as OEM Pickguard).

📌 Material Note: This pickguard is made from premium acrylic, not mass-produced PVC. Acrylic is intentionally more flexible— and is the industry standard for custom graphic and texture work. The slight flexibility helps with fitting and is by design. If you're used to stiff rigid PVC factory guards, this will feel different. That's the point.
