This art print is of an original work I painted as a tribute to John Lennon showing his 1958 Rickenbacker 325, nicknamed “Hamburg”, one of his first guitars used during the rise of the Beatles. The guitar is considered on of the most curious and rare, most likely one of the very first Capris made that year, because later models have a soundhole to show it’s a hollow body and an elevated pickguard. It was also retrofitted with an additional volume and tone knobs at the factory, which is a clue that it was one of the first made, maybe even a prototype. It is nicknamed Hamburg because the story that follows it tells us he bought it at a music store in Hamburg, Germany. Lennon is remembered as the founder, rhythm guitarist, and co-lead singer of the Beatles, and he’s left behind one of the largest fan bases in history. I felt he (through his favorite guitar) needed to be honored in paint, and I wanted it to be in such a way that anyone would be proud to show it off in their music room, mancave, den, livingroom, bar, or anywhere else you can think of.
My prints are fantastic conversation makers and make a great gift for family and friends. They look great on their own or stunning in a group. I offer plenty of size options to fit your needs.
