Description
This is an art print of an original painting which was painted as a tribute to Jimi Hendrix, with the now infamous Stratocaster guitar named “The Monterey Strat”. The story goes, during the 1967 Monterey International Pop Music Festival, Jimi strapped it on, created a wall of feedback, played “Wild Thing”, and proceeded to light it on fire on stage as a sort of sacrifice to the audience. I used flame colors beneath the crackled black background to pay tribute to the flames. Jimi is honored as one of the most creative musicians and guitar players in history, and I often wonder what other amazements he would have pulled off had he not died so young. I felt it needed to be honored in paint, and I wanted it to be in such a way that anyone would be proud to show it off in their music room, mancave, den, livingroom, bar, or anywhere else you can think of.
My prints are fantastic conversation makers and make a great gift for family and friends. They look great on their own or stunning in a group. I offer plenty of size options to fit your needs.
